Irony: The GTO forum is faster than the Corvette Forum.

Actually, same problems. The Corvette Forum was has been on "server overload" since the upgrade. And, this site, from time to time, has also been giving errors. It'll come up with "there has been an error and an email has been sent to...." Yeah, so what if an email has been sent. What matters is what is done about it and in both cases it seems as though the owner, apparently, doesn't give a rats ass. Extended outages are commonplace on both sites. It's very unprofessional and is very frustrating for the enthusiasts that are out there. I can't complain too much for this being "free" though. To me, it's kinda like someone leaving old furniture by the curb with the "Free" sign on it. You know no one is gonna take it!! Anyhow, sorry for the rant. I hope that something is learned from this and that the owner takes more pride in the sites and will bring them up to 99.999% functionality like some of the other automotive enthusiast internet sites.

better traction :

CF.com is having some serious reliability issues - probably somewhere in the user agreement it says that it may be down for up to 23 hrs a day

Troy has a very popular site in the CF and its demands on bandwidth and hardware are staggering. Plus it is a popular fully functioning on line shopping store as well. It isn't easy and a lot of changes are going on right now. Things will smooth out, just give it some time. This is all new. One thing about the Corvette Forum is that it's always growing and keeping up with the growth is difficult. This one is just mirroring the problems over there because I imagine they are all tied up on the same server. My post here was in jest, but believe me, they are trying to get all the bugs ironed out. There is a lot at stake when you have this kind of membership.

Yes, they are always trying to "work things out". However, if they wished to beta test the software it should've been done "off-line" before it was presented to the public. Bandwidth useage and the user profile conversions, pic resizing, etc all could've been worked out ahead of time. Good luck getting it going!

Actually I believe this is in beta testing right now and not officially opened. It was just turned on this morning. Give it a little time, everything will be straightened out. Maybe come back in a week or something, just some teething pain.
