So I'm driving this 2003 Cavalier most of the time now. I went to Vegas over last weekend in it. It was great. I stayed at the Wynn. They have a great golf package and the hotel and casino are ubelieveable. The room was awesome. It had TV's in the bathrooms, A large screen plasma TV that was about 50 inches. A nice wet bar in the room. I think the room was 2500 sf. It was more like a condo than a room. The view was unreal too.
My boss is a high roller there. He has an account and uses it for gambling and rooms and such. This gets him reservations when most can't get rooms and it gets him the best rooms and such. So I used his account to get a room. he paid for it which is good, at $1100 a night I definately would have been staying elsewhere. No there wasn't a cute little blonde with the room either.
What I had the most fun with was pulling up in the Cavalier. They have a seperate check-in and valet service when you're a high roller. I pulled up in the Cavalier to the special valet area. A guy comes running over and says the valet area for hotel guests is over at another area. I told him I was instructed to come to this place. He said he was sorry and someone made a mistake and I should just head over to the regular valet area and they would take care of me. I said ok, can you tell me where I need to go for the special check-in for a parlor suite. He kinda looked perplexed and said that if I had a palor suite I was in the right spot. I said ok thanks and started getting out of the car. Another guy yelled to the valet that was helping me to get me to pull around front for valet service and to clear the area. My valet said he's got a parlor suite. They all just kinda looked and shook their heads.
Then when I'd come out to get the car it was real cool to see it parked by a Bentley, a Lotus or a Ferrari. After they figured out who I was and that I belonged there the valets had fun with it. They started parking the Cavalier right in the front with all the car show cars. It was paked by an Enzo the one time I came out for it. I gave the guy that parked it there a $100 tip.
All told it cost me about a $1000 which isn't bad. Yes that means I did win some gambling. My girlfrend got a couple spa trips. I golfed twice. We did a Ghost town tour that I figured out off the internet. Saw 3 shows including Tony Bennett at the Hilton which made the trip. Went to the Valley of Fire and then followed lake Mead back to Vegas. We went to the Stratosphere and got to ride the rides and see the view. Plus I got to go to the Las Vegas auto show.
Excellent life lesson! Never be too quick to judge a book by its cover. Ya just never know who you're dealing with. The guy in the Bentley may be up to his neck in debt and one step away from bankruptcy. The guy in the Cobalt may simply be keeping a low profile.
Fergy,
Great story from your trip... but, what happens in Vegas is supposed to stay in Vegas... lol.
Oh trust me, most of what happened in Vegas is staying in Vegas.
My biggest regret right now is that I went past the Vegas Motor Speedway and there were a bunch of cars there. I didn't stop and a Forum member was there for a filming of Pinks.
