Mom's first ride!

I was down visiting my parents for the past few days and before I went back I was going to take my mom out to lunch. I stopped by her work to pick her up and let her take a ride in the goat. From the time she sat down she couldn't stop talking about how comfortable the seats were. So we pull out of the drive way and was just cruising down the road when I stopped at a stop sign. I put it in first and ease off the clutch and tell her to put her head back all the way against the head rest. She did, but when she was in the middle of her sentence asking why, I hit it. I ran it up to about 6 thousand rpm's and all I heard was her yelling at me. I don't think she want's to ride with me again, but man if was funny to here her yelling at me. Reminds me when I was younger and took her on for a ride on my dirt bike. Sorry mom

When I took my mom for her first ride, I took off like that and all she could say was "I don't need to see the chiropractor any longer." I didn't hear any cracking backs or snapping necks, but the wail of the engine at full throttle and my dad yelling may have drowned it out. Maybe I'll take up a new line of work.

I know what you mean.... i took my mother for a ride when i got it, she was not happy.... then i made the mistake of letting her hold the keys while i am deployed... she calls me up and tells me about the noise the car makes when it hits 85...

HAHA.

My mom came with me for the ride home the first day and I was even a little scared the first time feeling the power saying holy ****e! Anyway, we are cruising home and from a stop light I accelerate only hitting 2000 rpms (A4) and right away she starts yelling, "See, this is EXACTLY why I didn't want you to get this car....you're racing around already!" I was like, ummm wtf haha. It's not everyday you feel power like that...well actually for all of us it is

My mom has never driven a manual in her life and I'm not going to let her start now. She doesn't even know how to start it.

My mom wont ride with me amymore for about the same reason, she says it scares her to much. Funny thing is shes a worse driver than I am and she drives an 03 F250 Powerstroke 6.0 like its a GT car.

my mom's cooler....

Growing up with an old school motorhead mom and dad, my mom thought I was a pu$$y when I gave her her first ride.

The day I bought it, I drove up to pick her up for dinner. After reasonable driving, she told me to get on it and show her what it'll do. I pull out of a parking lot onto a three lane road and start winding it out. Gear 1.....2.....Griiinnnd. Anyone who remembers their new transmission can certainly sympathize when I let the clutch out too quick and ground the s*** out of third.

So mom's laughing her arse off and makes me pull over to let her drive. I tell you what, until you're in your passenger seat when someone's chirping gears and launching, it's easy to forget how dammit scary it can be!

Needless to say I spent the next three months of learning to drive the car thinking about the spanking moms' gave me. Great motivation.

I actually didn't scare my Mom with the GTO...I scared my husband instead! He's the Used Car Director at an import store so he has never driven or riden in a GTO. So when I pulled up in mine and told him to hop in, he had no clue what was about to happen! He "thought" that it wouldn't be as "forceful" as it truly is! i went easy with him until we stopped at the first light! As soon as it turned green, I hit the accelorator like I was at a drag strip and all I heard my husband say was "Oh S&?$!" Needless to say, I'm trying to keep him out of my car now!!!
