Pontiac 350 valve lash

I ordered a factory service manual for this car. Just freshened up engine. Problem i am having is i primed the engine. Was going to set valve lash and from wat book said all engines except 307 torque rocker nut to 20 ft lbs. and on 307 u set valve lash. Is this correct. Dont wanna be starting this engine and bending push rods. Any help would be greatly helped
