Updated Smartphone Feedback Thread

We're pleased to announce that we have launched a new smartphone view on the site, in addition to the recently added mobile view in the last upgrade. This version has been designed to have a cleaner look, to fit really nicely into mobile (iPhone, Android) browsers, and unlike most normal web based skins will also include features that are normally reserved for desktop or phone applications. We built this as we realize you all spend more time today on your phones on the forum than you did 2 years ago, and we want to get the mobile view to a place where you can do everything (and more!) that you can do on desktop.

A few notes as I know many of you may have questions:

* This does not replace the free or paid in-apps that you have, such as any mobile apps. This is web-only.
* This new skin will only show when you access the site from a modern (Android 4+, iPhone) phone. It will not show for older phones or for tablets, blackberries or windows phones.
* Please give us some time as we work through bugs. Give it a try, give us feedback in our mobile thread url, and give it a chance. Every change needs time to get used to!

If you visit the site from your mobile phone, you'll get the new view automatically. You can login, post, reply, upload photos, view your private messages and more. You can also use the legacy mobile view by choosing the top left menu and Exit Enhanced Mobile Mode.

The feedback thread for any bugs, etc, please post below.

**Please let use know the device, software version, and browser being used if reporting any issues.

Thanks!

Just accessed site via my iPhone 5s. I don't see any difference from accessing via my pc. Maybe you could post a screen shot of what it should look like?
Thanks.

I'll be honest and say I don't care for it mainly because I can't access new posts and when I do pick a forum to view it puts me at the oldest thread first.

Hey there,

You would only be able to see the new view by using a tablet or a mobile device, when you have a chance please browse through and tell us what you think

got it to work by emailing a link and opening it on the phone. Looks ok. Like ALKY I would prefer to see the initial post first.

You see old threads first? What do you mean?
I see the newest thread + stickies (which are old)

We see the newest response to the thread that was most recently replied to. On the web, we click on the topic and we see what the thread is about and subsequent replies. So it is like backwards on the mobile app.

Can I get a screen shot of what you're seeing? It may be a setting that you have made on your account, the display on my phones (OnePlusOne and SamsungS4) provides the thread topic, and the first post description is displayed.

I see stickys, then the most recent thread but it always starts on the first page top, not the most recent response.

I don't like the fact that I have to look at the forums, see which on has the most recent time in minutes and then have to go through two more pages to get to the most recent thread. Just a PIA, I'd rather just have a section with the "new" posts with the threads listed chronologically like they are on my PC.

First thing I do is go to new posts, why have to search through all the forums?

ALKY/Admin. This is what I did to make it function well for me.

Start out on home page and click on the drop down (yellow circle)

Then click on Active Topics (yellow circle)

That takes you to the page with the most recent active topic, showing the most recent post.

When you click on the post, it take you to the original post and then of course you scroll down to see all the posts.

What I did was bookmark the Active Topics screen so that I go right to the Active Topics. Hope this helps.
