1965 gto trans. tunnel porch

Is there a different 4 speed shift porch for a with or without console, i bought the entire kit to swap from an automatic trans. to a 4 speed, all the parts fit except the porch that mounts to the trans. tunnel, it seems too tall and wide and wont allow the 4 speed top console cover to fit down and around the porch to the carpet !

X2. Have owned several and am driving the same car Rukee is. One porch, and it fits just fine. Check your positioning. The porch only fits 'one' spot on the floorpan just right.

Quick question, how much was the conversion kit? What is the general opinion about changing out an Auto to a 4-speep? I have a '66 auto and would *really* like to convert to a 4-speed but I would hate to hack my car apart. Also, what 4-speed did you get? M20? M21?

Thanks,
