428CI Muncie 4spd Pricing

I'm gonna pull my 428 and Muncie 4spd from my 66 GTO, I just got the car in Octoberish, and both were rebuilt in the past year. Looking for a ballpark price on what these are worth, because I have zero clue.

Yeah, sorry. LS2 T56 swap. I was going to just do the T56 because I want the gears and I am taking the RPM Stage V one out of my RX7. Then I intended to mate it to a built/stroked 400 Poncho. But there are very few clutch combinations out there that would work. Then the thought of having a dead nuts reliable engine that made power and got 25+ mpg and I was sold on the idea.

I'll probably be pulling it in Indianapolis when I do it, which is pretty close to you.

Yea about a 100 miles, 2hours by car. I lived on the west side of Indy for 8 years. It is a great place for car guys. Tons of racing stuff, and car parts, when I lived there.

Indecision, you've broken my heart. Food for thought: 45 year old Pontiac engines and drivetrains can be dead relaible, too. And they can also get over 20mpg. And they also have more torque than an LS1 or LS2. LS! and LS2 engines are marvels of technical wizardry. Will they be around in 45 or 50 years?? How will they hold up over the really long haul? Time will tell!!!! Have fun.

I'll make a deal with you, you show me a 400 based Poncho that makes at least 600whp, 25mpg+ on the highway, and is dead nuts reliable. Then show me a twin disc clutch that will work with the 400 and a T56 and I will keep it old school.

That 600HP thing kinda puts a kink in the middle of the whole thing!!!.....I think it could be done, but it would take a ton of research and developement. Bear could probably slide-rule the whole thing out....I feel your pain!

Hence why I am doing an LS2 I have a buddy on way too much boost making 700whp on an otherwise stock motor and it's somehow holding together. Now I wouldn't do anything like that on a stock motor. But with a built motor, I wouldn't think twice.
