65 GTO trunk Vin Stamp

Was a partial vin number stamped on the trunk rail next to rubber seal?

It's been a while sense I read mine, but I believe the #s were different from the left side to the right. Possibly part #s for the quarter panels?

I have one to by the rubber seal on the drivers side of the trunk lip. My body guy says it is a partial number to designate the model they were building. So if it was a Tempest number they put Tempest parts on it and if a GTO number they put GTO parts on it.
