67 335 Horse air cleaner

This might be a dumb question, but I'll ask it anyway: has anyone figured out a way to adapt the short, louvered 67 air cleaner to a Holley carb? I like the look of my car's original, but I'm much happier with my Hollley 3310 750 cfm carb than the Q-jet. I have been unable to figure out a way to make the air cleaner fit the top of the Holley's body.confused

Is the air horn ring where the air filter base mounts larger on the Holley than the Quadrajet, or smaller? If it is smaller, you might be able to try the air filter base from a '66. The only difference between the '66 and '67 pancake air filters was the opening in the base as the '66 Carter AFB was a smaller opening than the Quadrajet. If memory serves me right, the AFB opening was 4" and the Quadrejet opening was 5".

it should be pretty easy to fabricate a connection to your stock low profile vented breather. A strip of thin aluminum, rivet gun and some silicone to seal the riveted piece should do the trick.
