antenna confusion

can someone tell me why there are some 68 GTO's with the antenna in the back?

yep not enough room in the inner fender for the motor....i have a buddy selling a rolling 68' was gonna make him a deal on his but found i would have to move it to the rear.

Is this the same situation with the 66? The PO on my 66 removed the stock antenna and bought an electric one, but never installed it. I wonder if this is why he didn't install it.

My power antenna is on rear driver side. Every other power antenna I have seen is on passenger side. It took me years to notice it..........weird.
