Best authentic window felt kit for 1969 GTO?

For a 69 GTO. Any thoughts or recommendations on which is the best, authentic to factory specs, window felt kits out on the market. I have been told to stay away from PUI products and am leaning towards Repops Automotive Reproductions. OPG carries PUI, and Ames stated they have a gentleman who reproduces them EXACTLY like the factory, but wouldn't give out his name. Kinda leery if they won't give out who manufactures them and, if it isn't what they say it is as far as being authentic, I would have to pay for return shipping. Has anyone purchased them from Ames and if so, "authentic" or not? Thanks in advance.

I'd love to know as I am having issues with PUI & Reppos on my 65 convertible.....The rubber "felt" is interfering with the window and preventing the window from closing (the last 1/4').

window felt kits

When I talked to a gentleman at Repops Automotive about the felts, he stated that Ames IS a retailer of theirs. However, when I called Ames, that is when I was told about this "Mystery Man" that was producing the authentic window felt kit for the 69 GTO (I don't know about other years). I asked if for sure the kit wasn't from Repops and he said no but he said he couldn't reveal who it was. WTF? Hey, cij911, is it the inner or outer felt or both sides, that is causing the binding? Correct me if I am wrong, but like my 66 GTO, didn't the 65 had the "fuzzy" type felt also? I am almost positive and will have to check later, but I think the 69 didn't have the "fuzzy" felt, but a rubber type sweep on both sides.

Yes the inside in the "fuzzy felt" and the outside is rubber. The issue is the outside rubber piece appears to be too thick and hits the window frame, thus preventing the window from being able to completely close. (I don't have any issues with the "fuzzy felt" side.)

I bought the "exact original type" from Ames, for my 68, and they were horrible. I ended up buying three sets from different vendors, mixing them around, with little success. I eventually found NOS door ones, but the quarters are fair at best. If someone could duplicate 50 year old tech today, it would be a freaking miracle.
