Cold Start and Idle Mixture Questions

Ok, so I have a 455 (428 block) with a XE 262 cam and Edelbrock Q-Jet 750cfm. My car has a tendency to stall unless i rev it for about 5-10 seconds after starting. Is this just normal behavior for cars with carburetors or is my mixture wrong?

This of course leads me to my next question is what should my idle speed and mixture be? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Basically does your car stall after you start it, or does it stay running when cold?
