Doing my research

Hello everyone,

I'm Looking to purchase my 1st classic within the next year or so. I've narrowed my ideal car to a 67 Le Mans and was hoping you guy can help me find some restoration reading materials/links. Basically, I want to know what I'm look at when I got to buy a car

The plan so far is to find a car that the body restoring has already started or that is solid. I've never welded anything in my life and wouldn't want to make a mess. Interior will be black with a dark blue exterior. Updated suspension as well as electronics. Kind of like what Crustysack did with his but without the CF... I love the CF but I don't have the skill.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Buy the nicest car you can afford. The cost of matierials and parts is at an all time high, so restoration work is very expensive. You'd be money ahead to buy a "creampuff" car ready to enjoy, or a very nice car that needs only minor work. You should be able to get an absolutely cherry '67 LeMans for around 10k or less.

10K I must be looking in the wrong places. The cheapest I've seen for running cars around here was 15k and that still needed paint.

Tell me about it! NY is very expensive.

I'm actually thinking about visiting this guy:
Pontiac : Le Mans | eBay

but the next cheapest one on ebay is:
Pontiac : Le Mans | eBay
but I really don't like that interior.

I will be keeping a closer eye on ebay for the next few months. I'm really trying not to rush a purchase until I've done my research and know what I'm getting myself into.

thx

15k will buy a decent '67 GTO out here in CA, and it isn't cheap out here, either. The market is tanked. 20k will buy a reallyb nice '67 GTO hardtop. Leman's go for about 1/2 what a GTO does in this neck of the woods..........
