can I run my elect choke off the + of the coil?

no. the coil wire is a resistance wire calibrated for coil voltage alone.

I normally run the electric choke on separate 14 gauge wire through firewall and to fuse box to ignition hot terminal. I also always run it through an in line fuse.

On the 67 Camaro I ran it from the horn relay.

66 GTO 4bbl power windows A/C auto
