Found out the hard way 69 seats don't go in 70

I've had some nice seats from a 69 gto since I got my 70 a couple years ago and was finally ready to put them in. The rear upper went in fine. Tried the rear lower and it was too wide to even fit width way. There is also a gusset for the b pillar that also makes it impossible. Now I have a set of seats that are in better shape then any I have ever seen in a 40 year old car that won't work.
Sorry just had to complain. So if anyone need good 69 seats let me know. They are free of tears and mouse crap.

some may say i have too many projects

Hmmm... You got the front buckets? I might be interested. Post some pics and throwout a price. PM me if you really want to sell or trade. Thanks.

The color is a dark green. The lower section of the rear seat doesn't fit. I got some black leather seats from a 97 grand prix. They don't fit right either but I don't feel so bad about midifying them. I really wanted to stay with the origional seats instead of going with modern power seats.

The GP seats are nice. I can't wait to put my butt back in them. After the rebuild.... They are'nt nearly as nice as the 94-06 GTO's though.

Did you get a heated drivers seat? The wife insisted I put a heater in her seat too (can't have her catch a cold down there ).

Which seat brackets are you using BTW?

I paid $100 for all the seats and I was lucky to find some where I live. No heated seats but the driver's side is power. What brackets can I get? I was going to get creative and make my own.

My suggestion would be to use the stock brackets if you have them and addapt to the new seats. otherwise you'll have to cobble your own. Good luck.

I got everything the grand prix came with as far as seats. Turns out the rear seat is too tall. I have it installed but I'll have to make a package tray out of mdf to raise it up a couple inches. Good place for new speakers. Width wise it looks good but I haven't installed the lower interior panels yet. To install the buckets I'll have to raise them up a little, but I want to still use the factory mount points. If anyone is interested I can take pics when I get it done.
