four questions about a 1967 GTO under restoration

Does anyone know if the vin plate on the drivers door jamb is painted from the factory is not?

I have just had a new rear bumper installed on a 1967 GTO I am having restored and there does not seem to be enough room to attach the license plate light. Does anyone have a picture of how it should be installed??

Trying to figure out how the tail light harness attaches inside the trunk. The wiring harness has little plastic thingies that are suppose to be pushed into holes to keep them in place but I can't find the holes. Any picture of this available?

Last question for today. I was going to install the dome light switches in the door jamb pillers and find that there are two holes available. They are spaced about an inch apart. Which one does the little push in switch go in and what is the second hole for?

The VIN plate definitely is NOT painted.

I will try to post some pictures for your other questions tomorrow.

One thing on the VIN plate I forgot to mention. DO NOT TAKE IT OFF TO PAINT. Just mask it off.

On question 3, here are a couple of pictures showing the rear tail light wiring harness in place. You can't plainly see how the connectors are pushed into the holes, but you can see where the harness goes.

The holes are above the bolts that hold the tail light assembly. They are very small. You can kind of tell where they are by the drape of the wiring harness.

Here are pictures of the pin switches for the dome light control on the door jams. They are in the upper holes. You may have to zoom in a little.

For the tail light wiring harness, I found one where you can see the hole.

I struck out on the license plate light pictures. In my disassembly notes, I did not have any special notes about how it was installed, so if it is tricky, I will probably be back here looking for help when I assemble mine.

Pretty sure the VIN tag in the jamb is stainless so remove any paint on it before painting.
Mask it off and as mentioned; do not remove it.

Garage
The Licc plate light does go over the center of rear bumper just above the plate location you should see 2 holes for this.
The light sets on the bumper with the bolt driven up though bumper into light housing.
Its tight but you should be able to manipulate it to get it in place. Might have to loosen center brace to to wiggle it in.

Thank you all for your replies. This will help me out. The only thing left to determine is the two holes in the cowl when the front of the door hinges are. I have two holes in the cowl spaced about an inch or so apart. One on top of the other. I believe that one is for the dome light switch but the other I have no idea. Any suggestions as to what it might be for???

thanks in advance
alan
