Fuel guage

The fuel gauge on my 68gto stopped working. I filled it up and the gauge went to full then slowly fell out of sight. I have not seen it since. any ideas before I start checking the wires. Ihave heard that the float might be stuck.thanks

Check the ground wire on the tank -- it connects to a lug on the sending unit.

It might have gotten a leak in the float also.

If it is broke it isn't much for a new one.
