Getting behind local tracks
Its been a fight, 1st saftey issues, then noise, then traffic, now emissions. My friend(and mechanic) has been in a fight for years to re-open a local 1/8 mile track with a storied history. For those who do not race, or do not watch racing you may not have notice the attack on local tracks/strips. The closing of these sometimes forces people to race on the street. This in turn affects everything from public saftey to your insurance rates. Please if any of your local tracks are having fundraisers or events attend. Car culture should be easily available for everyone not made harder and harder to take you kids to a track or you yourself to compete against friends and family. This is probably not new information for most of you, but after sitting through city council meetings and petitioning the city county and state, going door to door to gain support this is something near and dear to my heart. Here are some links to what the track was, and another one about what it ment to Don who is trying to pay forward the good will the Big Willie gave to him.
