Going to look at a `70

Friend stopped over today and told me about a 1970 GTO in pieces. It's black with black interior, only options were floor mats, console and an 8-track player now missing. Frame has been done with two coats of POR 15 chassis paint, new ball joints and bushings and is rolling. Has a not correct 400 with the 4-speed.
Body sounds like it needs everything, trunk pan, floor pans, rear quarters, dash pad, console refurbished. Asking price is $2700.00. but it sounds like it's going to need another 10 grand.

Uh oh -- getting the "itch" to start a collection? Good luck.

Cool. If you're able to take pix, post them up! For a guy like yourself with a bunch of mechanical know-how, the rebuild shouldn't be a problem....

OH Rukee's got the redo bug.. It better have something good about it beyond the GTO name. TMP can show you how to redo all the rust, if you are willing to cross the border, lol.. You know what the cars are worth, and are a forever GTO owner. Post some pics.
Is this a for sale car, or something you want?

I'm thinking resale, unless the wife falls in love with it. I had enough rust to redo on mine, although not to this extent. Suppose to go look at it tonight, I'll take some pics. The wife has already showed intrest seeing as how it's the same year as her little VW beetle.
Anyone know were to get the rear quarters for a `70?

I found this, seems a little pricey but includes everything plus some, I'll have a better idea what it's going to all need tonight.
