hood hinges

one of my hood hinges (drivers side) has a bolt in it and it opens way to much.
the 1st time I gently let go of it the spring actually fell out!
wifey says it was always like that, as she drove the car WAY "back in the day"
seems to me the hood would forever open crooked?
2nd pic is the ok one................
thoughts?
thanks as alway ps

Replace the bad hinge...you don't want to bend your hood! E

You can find them on E-bay "all the time"....when you change it, close the hood slowly and check the fit and spring tension. UE

actually buy a PAIR of new hinges with springs, cause if one side is weak, hood will flex and buckle.
