Long drives

Anyone taken their GTO out on cross country trips? I've got the GTO in Texas right now, it was shipped there and am either going to be stationed in Arizona or hopefully Florida and would love to drive her to my new location. The temps been lower than when I bought her and I still am hoping to get the MSD Ignition done and the electric fuel pump for a fuel cut off switch so I don't think she will have any problems just wondering if anyone has taken long trips. 5 MORE MONTHS!!!!

I've taken mine cross-country many times. From California, I've gone to Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, Idaho, Moab, etc. All different trips. Just did a 600 mile trip in the convert. If maintained, these cars are rock-reliable. I've been diriving them since they were just used, ten year old cars, though. Back then, most cars had ignition points and carburetors. 3.36 and taller rear gears really help, too. They save gas, engine wear, noise, driver fatigue, and increase the enjoyment of the trip. I say GO FOR IT!

I've drivin mine all over the state and wouldn't hessitate to go for a long road trip. Change the oil, check the fluids and tires, fill the tank and go.
