Lower door molding clips someone knows this answer

Hello, I am trying to figure out which direction the lower door molding clips fit into the lower door molding on a 1967
GTO. I bought the original clips costing 39.00 per door from Ame's and can't figure which was is up or down. They are the clips that have the long wire attached like the stinger on a sting Ray. The thing is they can go into the molding two different ways and if you get it wrong the molding won't line up and fit into the holes in the doors.

Also these lower door molding clip set comes with two (per door) clips that screw into the door. My problem is that both doors were rusted at the front and rear where these clips would have holes but the holes were filled in when the rust part was removed and new sheet metal installed. So no screw holes. Wondering how to drill the holes is the exact correct position in the door.

Any and all help would be appreciated.

thank you in advance
