metering valve

Kinda confused about my 67 Goats brake plumbing.
obviously there are 2 lines going to my MC, they both come up from the distributing block.
Why does only one go to the metering valve?
I already know the answer, but, (lol) do I really need this thing?
Is there an overhaul kit for it out there?
They'z expensive for new.
thanks as always

Top, Pontiac made a few changes in various years -- on my 69 that valve was called a "hold off" valve and its purpose was to delay pressure from getting to the rear brakes until the front brakes had reached a certain pressure. Similar job as a proportioning valve, only it works a little differently. The idea was to prevent the rear brakes from locking up "first".

I've got a brand new one for my 69 that I bought, but am not going to use now that I've converted over to a Wilwood 4-wheel disc system with an adustable prop valve. I bought it from Inline Tube. If it'll work for you, you can have it for cheap. I don't know if it's the same valve used in 67 or not.
