New Plugs

I have a 65 389 running 11:1 compr.
With the newer spark plugs and the choises out there, do the newer plugs offer better performance then the older standard plugs.
This is a car that has an auto trans and is street driven.
Just trying to get caught up on what works best
thanks

The newer platinum and irridium plugs are made to last longer to get new cars through the emissions warranty. They do not offer a better spark or better performance. They are tailored to vehicles that require major disassembly to access the plugs, so a plug change may only happen once or twice in the vehicle's service life. Stick with AC R44s or R45s and you'll be fine.
