Pertronix

Has anyone installed the Pertronix 2 electronic ignition conversion in their points distributor?
I got the magnetic ring in place and the induction coil and was trying to set the air gap. (ultimately .010)
This is done with washers that are all the same size (lol)
Anyway, the mag ring was wobbling!!!
According to the tech at Summit Raccing, if the thing "wobbles" more than .005" it wont work.
Mine wobbles .012
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.........
thanks

I've done it. You have to bend the module slightly to bridge the gap. Be carefull not to break it. Carefully read the instructions (I know it goes against the man code), it explains it pretty well in there. Make sure you shim the drive gear if needed to tighten everything up, and recheck all your gaps before installing.

It seems the mag coil was "bent" like .012'' (the one the rotor mounts to)
the Tech at Summit says it cant be bent (Wobble more than .005'')
calls for a .010 overall clearance.
I love the 8 washers (that are all the same size, to accomplish that)
Also says that the dist "up and down" endplay can't be more than .060.
mine is less.
sent back for exchange.....................
grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
