plug wires

I have a stock points distributor that im converting to electronics, with Pertronix2, can I use the standard stock cap?
I cant order plug wires till i find out

I don't know why not. The conversion just replaces the points/cam mecanism, right? If it uses the same rotor and distributor body, then a factory style cap would be required.

apparently I need to swap my stock cap for and HEI cap, in order to get the spiral core wires needed for the pertronix .

Ummm.... an HEI cap is not going to fit the stock distributor body. The HEI is much larger in diameter. Contact Pertronix tech support and get their recommendations.

I used Accel Superstock series 4000 8 mm plug wires with the stock cap and Pertronixs II. Works just fine.

Original parts group MSD cap (MSD8433)is supposed to fit " many stock GM points type distributors).............crosses fingers

You can use your stock cap/rotor for all the Pertronix units. I'm using Accel 8.8mm wires with mine.....

Well, all GM V8 engines took the same dist. cap from 1957 thru 1973......you can go from there. Any standard plug wire will be fine, as long as it measures less than 25k ohm resistance per foot of cable. Have fun.
