RA3 Judge

Found a numbers matching 1969 RA3 Judge for sale. I was wondering what you guys think of it. Whew!

Is this guy crazy to ask $12,500?!
There's another 69 GTO that he'd sell for $22k for the pair.
He says it might be the only champagne Judge in 69.

Looks rough in the photo, but if it's mostly all there AND has the original numbers-matching engine, it might be ok.

looks rough but worth a look. hows the frame, trunk? is the drive train original? if frame is good and drive train original and rebuildable I would go for it. just make sure you order more checkbooks before you start. its a valuable car if finished correctly and drive train is original

just realized the $12.5 price...No way..to high

Ok...reality check. If you want the challenge, go for it. If it's complete and still numbers correct, it'll cost between 40,000 and 80,000 to restore....possibly more. And be worth 40-60k when done. So, the cheapest you'd be in it would be 52,500. And that is very, very doubtful. If you want a Judge to drive and enjoy, buy a restored/original driving one for 30-60k and be done with it and money ahead.

I'll add: WHY do people let these cars sit out in a pasture and rot for decades and then try to cash in? If this car were stored even in a barn, it would be worth restoring, and worth a lot more. I don't see anywhere NEAR 12.5k here. In fact, even if the car were free, it would be a money pit, not to mention a Time Vampire.

I see very little usable parts on the car except for the cowl for the VIN and maybe the spoiler. If the body is any indication i'd bet the frame is swiss cheese, and not Catalina swiss, floors and trunk gone and the motor rusted solid. Very sad sight, was probably a beautiful car at one time, but i would leave that one alone.

Wow, what a turd. A rare turd mind you but still a turd. The bad thing about a car that looks that bad from the outside is what is inside is a whole hell of a lot worse.

Yeah, sounds crazy but I wouldn't even take this for free.

Thats what I was thinking. I havent gone to look at it, but figure the only thing worth anything is the title, vin tag and maybe the engine/trans.

I also don't understand how people let this kind of thing happen.
Maybe he'd take $500? I'll check.

Don't bother, surprised he even put a price on it. People that let a car rot like that have a false sense of value attached to it and are not usually reasonable.

This car begs to ask the question, At what point is a car NOT numbers matching? Sure as it sits it may be original matching but this car would need a re-body, re-frame most likely. Even if you could find NOS or good OEM it would, like GeeTee said cost 80K to do. At that point in my opinion even if by some miracle that motor cloud be saved the only original thing on the car would be firewall and drivetrain.
