Ram Air Pans?

I've seen several references to "Ram Air Pans" on GTOS equipped with said engines. Can anyone tell me what they are, where they are located, etc?

Excuse the dumb question as I am very new to the Pontiac marque.

Thank you for your help.

It mounts to the top part of the carb under the air filter(s) and the outer part of the pan seals to the hood forcing all the air from the hood scoops into the carb(s).
