Shifter question 1973 gto

I have a 1973 GTO with a 4speed muncie m20 and I was wondering if the shifter was floor mounted on a hump, or right on the tunnel? Also what Hurst shifter came standard with 4speed? this is also a non console car. any help or pictures would be great.

I believe the shifter is mounted to the trannny and comes through a hole in the floor with a rubber boot around it to seal out the weather.

From what it looks like for that to happen though, there must have been an extension of the tunnel like a boot because the shifter would be to far offset from the tunnel to come straight up. the people who had this before us hacked the tunnel to put a different shifter in and we are wondering what it would look like stock, any ideas on where to point us in the direction to find this out?

Yes it's offset, there is a little hat or whatever mounts to the floor, Should be able to get it from ThePartsPlace dot com or any of the other parts places.
