starter selenoid connections

The service manual is so vague.
I know the + from the batt goes to the big pots, along with another I believe,
I have a smaller "s"
and a "p" posts.
How many wires go on these and what are they for.
thanks as always

the big post has the battery cable and the main power wire for the car. the s is the power from the switch to engage the solenoid, the other terminal goes to the coil to provide 12 volt power when the car is starting.

Some of these cars only run the big batt + cable and the small S wire. The P terminal on the solenoid isn't used.
