I installed a blue tooth pioneer system in my glove box. I removed the original glove box that was damaged. Fabricated a box out tin mounted the stereo in the glove box. Has a remote control or I could operate from my phone. If you want to use the remote you have leave the glove box open. I installed JBL MODEL GTO 938 under the rear deck with clothe on top. no speaker covers because I want it to look factory. I also installed 4 inch JBL speakers under my front seats. the front speakers are not load but you need them for hands free phone calls. System sounds very good. I am going to install an amp soon but I want to hide it. I will put pics if you want. Just let me know. the JBL speakers have a very nice clean sound.

Sounds good. Keep me posted. I just finished fabricating a center console that will be covered with same vinyl color material to accommodate for new head unit with graphic equalizer. I will post pics when I pick up from upholster. Also I will post pics and info of what I did to make it custom without damaging original

Who can hear the radio in their GTO?

Who wants to?

Back on topic, what I've done in other, quieter cars, is to buy a cosmetically sound, but cheap Delco and replace the internals with modern, solid state boards. Like so:

Lots of companies offer these kits.

OMG. Can we think out of the box without damaging original material? This is what I came up with. Follow me on this. 2015 sound with 2015 technology totally removable without affecting cosmetics from 1966.

This will fit between both buckets seats under dash. Both components will be drilled on each side with tweeters. Any thoughts?

FM CONVERSIONS and MP3 Jack installations
Check out the site above. They will convert your original radio to include FM or add a MP3 jack or both. I have just a MP3 added to original factory AM radio with factory reverb system. I ran jack into my center console and can plug any MP3 player into it. All controls from factory radio still work. Neat way to do things for a factory original system. They install the MP3 jack for just $79.

1966 TriPower, 4 spd, PHS documented.

Ok guys never mind. I asked what you you guys think and not to give me a security run down. This is not the white house. I don't care how it is stolen but how it sounds. Besides I have a garage with 24hr surveillance. I am very well connected so maybe you can get away with it. It is not the point and was not the point from the start.

So here is the 90% finish product. Custom console up front with component speakers.

Removable panel with JBL speakers and Rockford Fosgate Mids in the rear. It is design to allow rear bench to remain while driving and If I like I could put the entire seat when not driving or when I like.
