Stupid question time...

Ok yesterday I bought a 1969 LeMans that I want to turn into a GTO/Judge clone for my own appreciation.

Now for the stupid question. How do ya open the hood?!?!? Its got the GTO snorkal hood. I pulled on the rod under the bumper and it released it part way. I can't find any release in the car. Is it simply stuck on something?

Thanks guys!

Close the hood fully. Then, pull fast and hard on the release rod under the nose and hold it out hard while you get your fingers under the hood and lift it up. If you let go of the rod after the first yank, the hood will re-engage on the secondary safety catch and not open.
