Have not examined a pair of reproduction '67 TL gaskets in a long time, & the mfg may have changed. In examining a pair of original '67 TL assemblies this afternoon, the housing where the gaskets glueon are slightly tapered outwards. My thought is to ck the repro gaskets, if the outer edges are cut at a 90 degree angle, & the groove you have mentioned is on the face of one side of the gasket, then put the side with the groove towards the TL lense. Don't want a recess that could possibly hold moisture up against the sheet metal tailpanel. Originally as built, 50 years ago, there were no epoxy primers used on the back side of the tail panels, imho, a product that at the minimum eally needs to be used in that area before paint.
