trans fluid

Which tranny fluid do I put in my 67 Goat? and what capacity are we talking?
3 sp auto
dunno what tranny I have.

If it's the original tranny, it's a Turbohydromatic 400, known by Pontiac as an M40. It is a very heavy duty unit, and takes Dexron type fluid. A bone dry trans and converter will take 14 quarts of fluid or so to fill up.....you'll need about 4 quarts or so for a pan and filter service.

a convertor should be partially pre-filled with fluid during installation. also get new filter and gasket kit if trans had been opened. can id trans from pan.
