Upgrades 1969 GTO

Hey guys.
Will installing modern brakes affect the value of my original 69 GTO? I'd love to keep it like this but I live on a mountain in Costa Rica and brakes are very important here..

Garage
I say upgrade the brakes or at the very least completely rebuild them to factory specs.

I put 4 wheel disc on mine and they are all factory GM parts, Cadillac rear calipers w/parking brakes and Trans Am discs. They work great. I had to get the brackets from the junk yard and used the old calipers as cores to get new ones from the Napa store. Brake lines and cables all hooked up like stock and if I have any problems I can go right back to the parts store for replacements. I think price on the calipers was around $90 each with core. Brackets bolted on my rear with minimal modifications.

That said, as far as affecting the "value" of your car I say it is worth more with upgraded brakes that it would be sitting at the bottom of a ravine because you couldn't stop.
