water pump

It's amazing how useless the '67 service manual is.........
Do I need to put "goo" on the water pump bolts and nuts?
pours another round......

Not on the nuts and bolts. I like to use a little bit of RTV selant on the gaskets.

I agree. And be sure your spacer plate assembly is positioned correctly. It "fits" only one way, and in a kind of sweet spot. Put that in, and gently position the pump. Torque the pump evenly, and not gorilla tight. Pass the 1800...sounds good to me!!

use antiseize on the threads where the bolts go into the timing cover threaded holes. Since cover is aluminium and bolts are carbon steel, they will corrode together. On the studs, it is not necessary.
