What is the thing with the wires blocking my accelerator pedal wide open?

kickdown switch for the trans. put the pedal on the other side and it will work better.

er..............what does it do?

As far as i knew(lol) the only wire going to my trans was for the Tac

makes the trans downshift when you press the pedal way down. (passing gear) it should be the only wire going to the trans. tach gets its signal from the ignition.

It is for the 400 turbo. It drops into passing gear(automatic down shift) from an electrical solenoid on the side of the trans. Unlike the 350 turbo, that uses a cable that runs from the carb to inside the trans next to the cooler lines.

So that is the switch to run the solenoid at close to full throttle. I am sure they put it inside the car, so it would last longer then being in the elements

that switch operates st300 2 speed also.

lol yea that is true as my 66 gto had one for the old 2speed trans. oops brain fart
