Another Big Weekend

Well, we got another busy weekend of racing goin on. There is a national event and several div races, including some div bracket finals. The 1st day of the div 2 race got rained out.

LODRS 2-6 - Rain Turns Two-Day Event Into One-Day Event

But, I'm happy to report that Brad Burton won Stock at the div 7 race, with his '72 Formula Bird.

3 of the 6 cars in the semi-final round were Pontiac powered. Scott and Brad Burton had to run each other.

LODRS 7-5 - Stock Eliminator Round 4 Eliminations

Brad made it to the final round, where he cut a .004 light, and ran an 11.154 on an 11.15 dial-in, for the win.

LODRS 7-5 - Stock Eliminator Final, Round 6 Eliminations

He also made it to the 5-car quarter final round with his Pontiac powered GT Super Stock 3rd gen Bird. Hey, Brad had a good day !

You can click on this next link and scroll down to page 11, for some more details of Stock Elim, at the div 7 race. And it's a double header--more action today !

Midwest Nationals

At the Midwest Nationals, E-1 is in the books. Looks like the only Pontiacs to survive were Adam Davis and Don Turk. So, good luck to these guys !

http://www.dragracecentral.com/DRCSt...er=30#indextop

Well, Adam won round 2, but that is as far as he got. So, all the Pontiacs are out of this race.

Div 7

OK, final elims of the 2nd race of the div 7 doubleheader are today. Qualifying for this race took place yesterday. And, I'm happy to report that after the final round of qualifying, a Pontiac powered car is #1 on both the Stock and Super Stock list.

AND, 4 of the top 7 Stockers have old school Pontiac power.

AND, there are NO Chevy powered cars in the top 8.

Leo Glasbrenner is #1 in Stock, with his '68 Bird.

LODRS 7-6 - Stock Eliminator Qualifying, Saturday Order

Carroll Warling is #1 in Super Stock, with his '74 Lemans.

LODRS 7-6 - Super Stock Qualifying, Saturday Order

Well, there were not any more big Pontiac winners on Sunday. But Brad Burton did make it down to the final 6 cars, in Stock. The guy he ran made his best pass of the day, cutting a .009 light and running his dial-in. It's hard to beat a run like that.

Congrats to Brad and the other Pontiac guys for having a good weekend representing Pontiac power !

Pontiacs Back in Action

OK, we got several Pontiacs in action this weekend. There's at least 3 in the Dutch Classic, at Maple Grove, and at least 5 Stockers at the Indy Fall Classic.

At the Dutch, we have Todd Hoven and Adam Strang, with their '68 Bird Stockers, and Victor Santos is #1 qualifier in Super Stock, with a 1.203 under the index 9.997 ET, in his Pontiac powered 3rd gen.

Elims At The Dutch

Well, the bad news is that we did not have a Pontiac winner, at the Dutch.

BUT, the news ain't all bad. Todd Hoven made all the way to the semi-final round. And it took 5 round wins to get there.

DUTCH CLASSIC - Stock Eliminator Round 6 Eliminations

And, Vic Santos took his #1 qualified 3rd gen Super Stock Bird, all the way to the final round, by winning 6 rounds. But, there he left just a hair too quick and tripped the red. But he needed a great light, since his opponent cut a perfect .000 light.

DUTCH CLASSIC - Super Stock Qualifying, Saturday Order

DUTCH CLASSIC - Super Stock Final, Round 7 Eliminations

Anyhow, these 2 guys did a great job, and represented us well, in a large field of cars. Congrats guys !

Texas Fall Nationals

There is a national event and a div race this weekend. There were 2 Pontiac powered cars entered in the Texas Fall Nationals. Randi Lyn Shipp is the only Pontiac Stocker, with her '67 Bird. She has won her first 2 rounds, so far.

J.B. Clegg was entered in Super Stock, with his '74 SD455 Bird. In the 1st round he turned in a 9.82 ET, but left a tad early, to trip the redlight.

There are 3 Pontiac Stockers entered in the Div 2 race, in Georgia. The highest qualified Pontiac is the '77 Bird, driven by Tommy Pettigrew. Then we have Bryan Phillips, in his '67 Bird and Kevin MacNicol, in his '69 Bird.
