When it comes to Pro Chargers... OpticZ06 is the guy to talk to. The LS1 engine out of the box can handle forced induction power adders, head & cam upgrades, and bolts ons to support about 500 RWHP. That's a lot of power!!!!

The real issue is, how do you get it to the pavement??? Tire spin, wheel hop.

No one know exactlly what will fail first in an engine. However the LS1, in general seems to have some problems with Pistons developing cracks, Piston Rings breaking when the LS1 (with excellent traction) is making in the area of 525 - 540 rear wheel horse power. Beyond that are issues with the Piston Connecting Rod Bolts Of course this is very general, there are lots of other factors involved.

Attention Lisa... and others with interst in learning about engines. This site is an excellant source for learning... If you go through this site, you will know more about engines than most people ... period. Just keep clicking "Next Page" for the next page.

Even if your new to engines... you should very quickly be able to identify the parts mentioned above.

Awsome power... that should be enough power for low 11's at around 125...

when do you reach full boost, 4000,4500?

Good question Redline... Generally a Centrifical supercharger will build boost until redline or when you hit the waste gate pressure relief. Hopeful OpticZ06 can give us some more details.

If there are GTO guys looking for power.... you chose the right car. Basically the GTO has stepped into the shoes of the gone by the way side TransAm and Camero... and then GM added a little extra. The LS1 has been around to a long time, so there are plenty of aftermarket performance parts already waiting.
