S197 of some sort

I was merging onto the Interstate in my T/A @ around 1 AM the other night when I saw a 94-98 body style mustang in my rearview. He had a pretty nice body kit and graphics that said "sinner" across the top of the windshield. As soon as I got in the middle lane I heard him punch it and he started coming up on me fast. I waited until he got next to me and punched it as well. He was prob doing 80 when I hit it. I was doing like 65. He wasn't able to pass me but I didnt pull on him all that much. My car was definitely slightly faster. When we let off he gave me a thumbs up and took off down the road. My mods are H/C and full bolt ons with 373s and 4500 stall. I put down 379 WHP with my setup. He had to have a lot of work done to his stang to keep up like he did. Good times. I would have liked to see how well the GTO kept up with him.

Are those the S197 or am I thinking of a different body style? I'm not too educated on the stangs.

Nice race, had to be suprised an older mustang kept up that well. 94 to 98 is some of the worst years for stangs. Enough mods will cure anything I guess.

Yeah I was pretty surprised. My T/A is a high 11 sec car. Those things were anemic from the factory.
