Exhaust Manifold Paint

Not sure how long this will last but just wanted to touch them up. Used wire brush and wire wheel on the drill, wiped down with mineral spirits, sprayed with VHT primer, and then couple coats of VHT header paint. Primer and paint good from 1300 - 2000 degrees F. $20 investment so just wanted to try it out. Others baked the primer and paint on. I didn't.

Before and after pics.

Sure looks good now. Please let us all know how they hold up after they've been running for a spell...

I used black stove paint on the '67 about 4 years and 5,000 miles ago. Still looks like new. 8 years ago, used silver radiator paint (for the old steam radiators in houses)on my 1915 Model T about 8 years ago, and it still looks great. The stove paint is neat because it looks like dark cast iron. Cheap and durable.
