New Challenger looses to GTO

YouTube - 2005 Pontiac GTO vs Dodge Challenger SRT8

Looks like this GTO is almost stock besides exhaust and CAI. The drag time would suggest it is stock for the most part at 13.1. Time to take off those $25,000 mark ups on the Challenger SRT8.

2006 Cyclone M/T..K&N CAI.

It is. In the latest Car and Driver "Lightning Lap" article, they say there is only about 50 pounds difference between the Challenger SRT8 and the Charger SRT8. The Challenger weighs in at almost 4200 pounds. That's alot of car for a 2 door, with the goat weighing in around 3725, which is still no light weight.

The Challenger's 20 HP it's got over the goat aren't enough to overcome the almost 500 extra pounds it's got. I wish GM would've let the goat's top end be all motor with no governors/electronic limiters. The SRT8's run to redline and or wind drag limit and for that reason, can run about 10 mph faster then us on the top end. All things said....it's still a beautiful car.
