06 Gto high rpm power

Just got an 06 gto m6 vararam cai, and exhaust dont know if it is tuned. but it has no power at high rpm its like it red lines at 5k it just floats there. then i will shift it does alright untill i gets back up into the 4k range. no codes please help

That's very strange indeed. First thing that comes to mind is clogged exhaust, maybe bad cats?



:edit If it was the exhaust you should be able to loosen the pipes at the manifolds and take it for a quick test drive to see if it revs higher.

i was thinking the route of the valve springs cause it does have a slight knock. changed the oil today it was clean no metal shavings or anything. the car is runing real rich and i just ordered pacesetter headers, off road mid pipes and slp lm1. so maybe that will change somthing.
