1966 Air conditioning

How do you control the idle up speed required when the A/C is turned on?
My car has 3x2bbls added and A/C was not functioning when I purchased it.
It now works, but unless the idle is set to =/-1500, it will not idle.

Not 100% sure as never had this problem, but what I do know it that there is an electric solenoid that is typically wired into the AC power and when you turn on the AC, the electric solenoid engages and idles up your carb via a plunger that makes contact on the throttle to open it up a bit more and then will de-activate when you shut down the AC or turn off the key.

I am thinking a Service manual for your car will show this and the wiring.

That's how they dealt with it on the OHC 6 SPRINT engines;

New here, A year ago I bought a 66 with a/c supposedly, The seller said it only need charged, did worry to much about it, The car drove great, rides great, so no issues till I started tearing into it a month ago, had heater core leak, anyway didn’t have any cables hooked up for the heater and air conditioning, figured out the heat cable but not the A/C, As a Beginner, The restoration, Build books haven’t helped me much, Can anyone get me headed in the right direction?

I would look for a good used copy of the Factory AC manual it will go a long way with information.
