5 beeps

Is there anyway to turn off the 5 beep feature when the solenoid sticks? Also does anyone know if the 05 solenoid the same at the 04.

Cant remember which gto that was. Real question is the solenoids the same for all years. I have a 05 parts car.

I'm thinking he hasn't because he's talking about a sticking solenoid (actuator). I had this issue about 8 years ago and replaced the passenger side actuator. Haven't had that problem since. From that experience I know that there is not a way to disable the 5 beep thing since that's a malfunction indication rather than a door lock indication. As far as I know the actuators are the same for all models.

Wonder if the linkage are at fault more then the solenoid, ie lube and binding from lack of use. interesting point, how does the system know its bad even if the plunger is pushed down? Maybe the sensor that detects that is bad.

The linkage could be at fault but in my case it wasn't because that was the first thing I tried.

When you have 2 GTO's you also have a parts car. Replacement seems to be working. I use to have a hobbies, r/c planes and car, now I have GTO's
