550Mile Trip South! Check Engine :(

Well took the GF down to school Aiken Tech in SC 9hrs. .... 30 min from Augusta, GA. Well on my way back home yesterday im cruising at 90mph (ive been doing a constant 90 for about an hour or so. Well next thing i know (still in SC) the check engine light comes on. and i went from chillin to pissed off lol. Well i took the next exit and hit a advanced auto that was down the road. (thank you GPS) they checked it and it was a cyl. miss fire. so im like ok probably just a spark plug that fowled. i had him delete the code maybe it was the 90+ speeds for an hour well got back on the high way and it comes back on. o well ill change the plugs today. Well the light is no longer on anymore???? Should i still change the plugs or what?

If you have autozone clear the code and drove it that far after that to get home I don't think you have any real big issues to worry about. It probally wouldn't hurt to pull the plugs and take a quick look though. You could always come up Saturday and I could help/ Kill 2 birds with 1 stone... car and party.

Cruising at 90 in SC is risky business. State troopers down here will hammer you for exceeding the limit by more than 10 mph. Out of staters really get slammed. Just so you know...

Check your wires and coilpacks. It can be the plugs, but it also can be further upstream from that.

It's the one you don't see that gets you In defense of most state troopers, they have a dangerous job they do well. But, as the videos demonstrate, you don't want to be the target of a few of them. I lived in SC 40 years and I've been stopped by some regular guys and a couple of regular a**holes.

Garage
Be carefull with tickets. FL is #1 for tickets, Al is #4 in the country for tickets. I cruise I-10 all the time and they are getting stupid with tickets, but you can go 10 over. I thought all was good at 15 over in my van for 30K miles, first time I take my Vette on a long cruise I got 2 tickets in 30 minutes for 15 over, and my liscense is screwed!! Just be carefull, and be willing to pay the man if you get caught.

I had that problem with my silverado I had muliple miss fires. I changed out one of the coils from one of the the misfireing cylinder. And it turns out that onE coil made more than one cylinder mis. So if it keeps up do obvious stuff plugs wires if not it could be a coil

btw dielectric grease make a HUGE difference put it on all the connections

straight piped cat back, JBA shortys, JBA wires, AEM ca, and 421 slp tune
