Accelerator positioning sensor discontinued!

I am trying to replace an accelerator positioning sensor for my '05 GTO; However, the part is unavailable even in aftermarket. It looks like GM had the part outsourced after the failed part was redesigned and whoever was making it simply stopped making it. I bought a pricey Lokar/Williams control and it will not respond and the company told me they only support programming for '06! I'm looking for anyway to get this thing moving again. Even considered getting an 06' ECM programmed but so far no one seems to be confident it will work. So my GTO with only 9000 miles just sits collecting dust.

Garage
Try the salvage yards (like Cleveland Pick-a-part) or look for a part-out from a wreck on the forums or Facebook. Part-outs seems to crop up fairly frequently.

Hmmmm, Wonder why they think the 06 ECM wont work. 05 and 06 are pretty much the same car right? With it being discontinued I would like to get my hands on one so I don't have to deal with it later if I ever need one lol
