Clutch killing the engine.

I have a 66 GTO with a 400ci manual 4speed, and after the engine has wormed up and the car has been driven a little, if I sit their idling with the clutch engaged the engine will die and if I start it it will immediately die again unless i give it gas or put it in neutral and disengage the clutch. when the car is cold it acts normal its only after u drive it for awhile and worm it up that this problem occurs.
