Door lock retainers

When removing the door panels, alldata states you have to replace the door lock retainers(RED). How do you pop them out? I assume they get destroyed doing so.

If your talking about the clips that hold the lever to the lock cylinder and they're original, they will probably get destroyed. I pulled my door locks and although I tried to save them, its close to impossible. I bought a lock set from Ames and it came with new clips.

If your talking about the clips that hold the lock cylinder to the door, you just need to give them a good pull and they will come loose (spring clips). They can be re-used but I changed mine out.

Good luck!

Clips

I am talking about the red clips that hold the plunger on. How do you get those out?
