Short shifter/stock height

so i have a short shifter in my car, its still has the stock hieght, is there any way i can make the stick shorter and how?

i dont know, the owner before me didnt know what it was either since he didnt install in himself, why does it matter what short shifter i have on ?

Of the aftermarkets I have seen and recalling them I believe the Hurst sits lower than the others. The GMM rip shifter fits the OEM style is about the same height.

Depending on what shifter is in there will depend on how you can modify it. If the shank is steel it can be cut shortened and welded back. Would I do this to mine? Not a chance.

Because some can be fitted with a Lou's short stick, some you'd have to cut and weld the shaft. If you have a B&M the handle may just snap off and solve it for you. Remember the shorter the throw the less leverage you have so there's a point of diminishing returns.
